Licensing Manager
We are seeking a trustworthy, driven professional to join a small, dynamic, experienced patent licensing team, leading licensing activities for a diverse and strategically critical patent portfolio.
Our Client is a company specialized in patent licensing that has acquired the right to license a large portfolio of patents in the field of Lithium-ion batteries owned by two of the most innovative companies in the field.
Their mission is to license this important patent portfolio to unlicensed manufacturers of Lithium-ion batteries to both allow manufacturers to continue offering innovative licensed products on the market and ensure that the innovation of the owners of the patents is properly compensated. This highly specialized company recently began operations in Hungary, but it has an international team with a strong track record and deep expertise in the patent business. They are now seeking a dynamic Licensing Manager to work with the in-house licensing team and their established network of consultants and outside lawyers in driving growth and establishing their presence in this niche industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead licensing campaigns to engage potential licensees and stakeholders,highlight program benefits, and drive success;
- Manage and oversee communications with multiple prospective licensee accounts;
- Build and maintain positive, trust-based relationships with licensees, ensuring productive cooperation;
- Research company fundamentals and industry verticals to identify infringing products and evaluate licensing opportunities.;
- Engage executive-level decision makers to present licensing programs and advance toward license execution;
- Collaborate with the licensing team to negotiate and finalize license agreements with target accounts;
- Work with external legal teams to support global patent enforcement campaigns;
- Coordinate and oversee enforcement by law firms, supported by external experts and consultants;
- Implement and improve operational processes to streamline patent licensing and monetization activities.
Must have Qualifications
- Primary degree in Business, Science/Engineering, or Law;
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in patent licensing, patent law, business development, or related sales field;
- Solid understanding of patent law, licensing processes, and commercial IP strategies;
- Self-starter with the ability to identify prospects, initiate contact, and support complex licensing negotiations;
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure;
- Excellent communication skills (including PowerPoint and Excel) and the ability to influence and persuade stakeholders;
- Quick learner, confident in fast-paced situations, and comfortable working with numbers.
- Fluency in English, both in speech and in writing
Preferred qualifications
- Advanced degree or professional qualification in Business, Science/Engineering, or Law;
- Experience in a law firm, consulting firm, or similar professional environment;
- Proven track record in negotiation, sales, and project management;
